Meet Jim Smith, Elvis impersonator

Elvis impersonaor Jim Smith is up there with the best of them having won the Preliminary round at Virginia Beach Oceanfront. Jim didn't make it to the final 10 of the Ultimate Elvis tribute artists competition but he was in the final 23 to perofrm in Memphis.

In Jim's website he says:

"My goal is to give people of all ages the opportunity to experience the music and the energy of Elvis. I take delight in sparking memories for those who were fortunate enough to have experienced Elvis and his live performances. Equally rewarding is to introduce Elvis, through my shows, to a new generation of fans.

Meet Elvis impersonator Simon Patrick

Simon Patrick, Elvis impersonator, stormed to victory at Europe's largest Elvis convention, competing against hundreds of the world's best acts. He has been impersonating the King for seven years so he's a seasoned pro.

He made it to the final 20 something of the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist contest but didn't cut it to the final 10.

Simon 33, of Windmill Close, Wellingborough, U.K. has been a life-long fan of the King and currently works in Spain as a rock 'n' roll entertainer.

Patrick has said: "I remember at the age of the four my parents pulling over our car as it was announced on the radio that Elvis had died.

"He was unique and had such charisma. Elvis has had a massive impact on the world of music."

Simon is a soccer and golf pro and in his spare time is a disc jockey. When asked why he likes Elvis so much, he says "For his kindness to others, his love for his mother and family and for being the biggest and best entertainer who ever lived."

Elvis impersonator Jeff Bodner doesn't quite make final 10

This Elvis impersonator, Jeff Bodner also made it into the final 23 at the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist competition in Memphis recently. I am keen to introduce you to not just the final 10 but the impersonators who did the best! The were the prelimanary winners from 23 heats leading up to the finals.

Jeff won the preliminary round at Penticton, British Columbia, Canada during their heat held June 23 & 24, 2007.

Don't forget that for the first time ever, Elvis Presley Enterprises held the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest during Elvis Week.

Here Jeff says: "Singing for Jeff started from an early age. Jeff had great fortune to have a mother who was very gifted musically and encouraged him to follow his voice. At the ripe old age of five he was stage at his first talent show, by six he was on television with his grade one class and sang solo. Jeff has now been singing for thirty six years and has always had a love of old fifties Rock'n'Roll. Elvis' music was often played while Jeff was growing up and he grew to appreciate it."

This story is pretty typical from what I have read of the best of them.. These guys have such an admiration for the King and it shows.. you couldn't be this good without it. When I say good, I mean the best in the world. We're talking the top 25 or so from 85,000 Elvis impersonators worldwide.

Meet Elvis impersonator Ted Torres

Ted Torres was one of the final 24 Elvis impersonators left standing at the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist contest. Little by little, I am showing you what each looks like along with providing snippets of information about them.

Ted won the Preliminary Round Location at Bruce Rossmeyer's Destination Daytona on June 15-16, 2007.

Ted Torres has been performing Elvis tributes in Memphis, Canada and California.

He wants to help help people relive the memories of when Elvis, the poor kid from Tupelo, who conquered both Memphis and the world with his music.
