Elvis Presley Enterprises has planned another contest for 2008.

The website says:

"EPE is bringing the contest back again in 2008 and once again looking for the Elvis tribute artist that "best represents the legacy of Elvis Presley." Tribute artists will receive the opportunity to compete in preliminary rounds of the competition in various locations around the world for their chance to win a spot in the semi-finals that will take place in Memphis during Elvis Week 2008 in August."

Elvis impersonator fights it out in court with Beatles fan

A legal battle between an Elvis devotee and a Beatles fan was settled out of court late last month.

Owners of two neighbouring world famous London memorabilia shops are locked in a battle after working side by side for seven years.

"The two Baker Street shops, which attract music fans and tourists from all over the world, have been sharing a joint lease, for the last seven years.

But the Elvis shop owner has tried to evict the Beatles shop owner.. read more in the story link below..

Meet Elvis impersonator John Loos

John Loos is one of the world's top Elvis impersonators. Although he didn't make it to the final 10 of the Ultimate Elvis Impersonator contest held a few months ago, he did make it to the final 23.

John was born and raised in Cheyenne, Wyoming. As a young child
he enjoyed listening to 50's rock and most especially "Elvis". As a
teenager, he would stand in front of a mirror or a video camera and
practice singing and dancing like "Elvis".

His website biography says:

"In his early 20's John began to perform for various audiences and his talent has
grown from there. John began singing with a band in Cheyenne for local
business establishments. Through the years he has made appearances
from Las Vegas to Collingwood, Ontario for group functions,
contests and local charities.

In the past year John has won many "Elvis" contests in Canada, Colorado, Las
Vegas, and Nashville. He has performed in Blackhawk, Colorado, and
Cheyenne, Wyoming as well as participated in events sponsored by "The
Elvis Connection", an Elvis Fan Club, out of Denver,Colorado. Audiences
John has performed for have ranges from 100 people to over
18,000 people."

Flying Elvi - in action

Last night we watched Honeymoon in Vegas again - Elvis impersonators are of course a big part of the movie.. the Flying Elvi are Elvis impersonators who sky dive in their Elvis jumpsuits. If you do a search on my site, we will find a couple more posts on the Flying Elvis

Meet Elvis impersonator Gino Monopoli

Elvis impersonator Gino Monopoli made was another of the preliminary winner of the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist contest recently. That means Gino is one of the best 23 Elvis impersonators in the world.

This experienced Elvis impersonator if from Toronto. He's been singing Elvis songs for as long as he can recall.

Gino won the World's Finest Elvis competition in Las Vegas in 2004 - hence his website has the name World's Finest Elvis. Gino has an uncanny resemlance to Elvis in his younger years.
