Top 10 finalists for the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest Announced!

The top ten finalists for the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest have been announced.

Twenty-two Elvis tribute artists from around the world competed on-stage in Memphis tonight for their chance to proceed to the finals round on Thursday, August 14. The top 10 finalists were announced just a short time ago.

Congratulations to the following Elvis tribute artists who will be advancing to the finals and competing tomorrow night (names below in no particular order):

Semifinals and Finals of Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest

Tickets are still available for the semifinals and finals that will take place at the Cannon Center for the Performing Arts on August 13 & 14. You can cheer on your favorite Elvis tribute artist as they compete for their chance to advance to the finals and win the title of Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist of 2008.

Elvis jumpsuit sells for $300,000 US

Elvis Presley's favorite performance costume, the peacock jumpsuit, sold for $300,000 (U.S.) yesterday, making it the most expensive piece of Elvis memorabilia sold at auction. The previous record is $295,000 for his 1956 Lincoln Continental Mark II. Imagine if an Elvis impersonator could have bought this suit.. Wow!

Another Fabulous Collingwood Elvis Festival

More than 130 Elvis tribute artists again made the trek to Collingwood for the 14th annual Elvis Festival. And joining them were literally thousands of fans of either the man or the spectacle that the event lends itself to.
