No doubt I'll be posting regular news about this event in the lead up to Elvis Week and that BBC1 competition I've posted information about previously as well. The Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest - FINALE

7:00 PM. The Cannon Center for the Performing Arts at the Memphis Cook Convention Center in downtown Memphis. The finale of the first-ever official Elvis tribute artist contest. Finalists from qualifying rounds earlier in the week compete for the title of Elvis Tribute Artist of the Year. Attendees at the show will see the best Elvis Tribute Artists from around the world perform on stage in a first-class contest. Elvis Tribute Artists will receive their chance to showcase their talents and why they should be named Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist of 2007. Interstin to read a little more about the Elvis and Celine Dion duet on idol.

Presley's performance of W. Earl Brown's If I Can Dream came from his 1968 TV comeback special. With Photoshop-like technology, the 39-year-old Presley footage was morphed with recently taped shots featuring 39-year-old Dion, as though it were taking place at the same time as the rest of Wednesday's show. An Idol spokesman said only that an Elvis impersonator was used "at one point."
