His site says:Johnny Thompson was born in Ft.Worth, Texas and raised in the South. His father was an avid Elvis fan and exposed Johnny to Elvis at an early age. Johnny grew up listening to Elvis and watching his movies. Having been from the South really adds a exciting and realistic authenticity to Johnny's recreation of Elvis on stage.
Johnny grew up singing gospel music at church since a young child and was always told he sounded like Elvis by his mother. "She would tell me to try not to sound so much like Elvis when I was leading singing at Church. I told her, Mom, I'm just singing"!
