Elvis themed extravaganza this Saturday

http://bostonphoenix.com/boston/news_features/this_just_in/documents/02860420.htm

This documentary, The Faithul,  sounds amazing, and of course Elvis has to be one of the most iconic idols of all time. Good on this Elvis impersonator, Robert Washington, for helping to raise funds for this film. Washington has an impressive history as an impersonator and you can read this journalist's interview with him by following the link up top.

Robert Washington, an African-American Elvis impersonator

This Saturday, the often-somersaulting Washington will roll into town to raise funds for local documentary The Faithful, a film about followers of three of the 20th centurys biggest icons: the King, Princess Di, and Pope John Paul II. Saturday evenings Elvis-themed extravaganza will feature a booth of fried peanut-butter-and-banana sandwiches, a 500-pound ice sculpture of the truck-driver-turned-bloated-pill-popper, and a " Kings Karoake Contest " of hound-dog devotees competing for a cameo in The Faithful.

Thanks Camille Dodero for this story.
