Elvis' at the Arcada:
Concerts set for Aug. 10 and 11 at the Arcada Theater in St. Charles will mark the 30th anniversary of Elvis Presley's death. The "Three Faces of the King" series features three Elvis impersonators, a choir and live backup band. DJ Fontana, Presley's original drummer, also will be on hand to share his memories of Elvis. The shows start at 8 p.m. Tickets are $29 and up, and are available in advance by calling (630) 587-8400 or through the venue's Web site, www.thearcada.com. The theater is at 105 E. Main St.
As part of its summer movie series, the city of Elgin and the Cultural Arts Commission will show the "The Wizard of Oz" at 8:30 p.m. today at Festival Park, off Grove Avenue in Elgin. A preshow of classic cartoons will be shown at 8 p.m. Bring lawn chairs or blankets.
